Dust off your collection for Traditional-Prime Format. We've bridged the gap between classic strategy and modern power. With a strict 1 Special Summon limit and 3 'Wildcard' Legacy slots, we've traded the endless combos for high-stakes mind games. Play with the cards of 2026, using the soul of 2005.
A condensed blueprint outlining basic card constraints and turn operations.
1 per turn (standard rules)*
MAX 1 per turn**
Pendulum Summons count as your 1 Special Summon, however you can summon ALL eligible monsters at once but cannot Special Summon again that turn.***
Do NOT count toward your Special Summon limit.
40 - 60 Cards.
15 Cards (Be Careful - You only get to use one per turn!)
You may pick 3 cards from before 2006 that are currently Banned or Limited in modern rules but only 1 per deck - Last Will, Victory Dragon and Cyber-Stein are however banned still.
The standard TCG Banlist counts including the following system balances:
*. Normal Summon Exceptions: Cards like Ultimate Offering and Double Summon are completely legal as they count as NORMAL Summons and NOT Special Summoning.
**. Exceptions: The 1 Special Summon limit does not apply to the following:
• 1. Opponent's Turn: Any Special Summons performed on the opponent's turn (e.g., Quick Effects, Hand Traps, Trap Cards).
• 2. Delayed Triggers (End of Phase): Any Special Summon resulting from an effect that activates or triggers specifically during the End Phase (e.g., The White Stone of Ancients) or at the end of the Battle Phase (e.g., Gladiator Beasts tagging out).
***. Pendulum Summons: Summoning the 2 Monsters to the Pendulum zones don't count, however you can only Pendulum Summon once per turn. But ANY cards in your hand that can be Pendulum summoned in that turn can be summoned together in one go. E.g place 2 pendulum summon monsters and have 3x 8 Star monsters, can summon ALL 3 8 Star monsters during that phase as it will only count as 1 Special Summon provided all 3 were drawn at the same time.
